Body

The City of Littlefield in preparation for a safe and happy Fourth of July celebration would like to remind residents and guests of the safety measures in place for the holiday.

According to City Manager Mitch Grant the City of Littlefield Police Department will be out patrolling in force to insure the safety of the community.

He would like to remind everyone that the city and surrounding area is still under severe drought conditions and there is a lot of area covered in dry, highly flammable vegetation. Please be aware of the possibility of fires that may pose a danger to yourself and to surrounding properties.

Please avoid rural areas near hay fields, pastures where livestock is present, and Conservation Resource Program properties that are covered in dry foliage.

He would like to point out that the area on the east side of town from Hall Ave which is bordered by E. Delano Ave across to Highway 84 on the south is incorporated within the city limits. The area may look rural but it is part of the city of Littlefield. Fireworks are prohibited within the city limits of Littlefield.
