Nettes blast Lockney, 252, in first district meeting

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity softball team throttled the Lockney Lady Horns on the road on Tuesday, 25-2, in district play.With the win, the Nettes improve to 2-1 in district play.Sudan came out strong out of the gate with a nine-run first inning, taking a, 9-1, lead into the second inning.

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines and Lady Wolverines’ basketball team were represented on the 2024 District 4-1A All-District teams, headlined by boys Offensive MVP, JJ Jaramillo.On the boy’s side, sophomore, Kaleb Castillo and senior, Isaiah Tovar, were first-team All-District selections.

The Olton Mustang’s varsity baseball team opened district play on Monday, as junior, Jaxon Tomsu, blasted a two-run walk-off homerun to right field to lift the Mustangs over the Hale Center Owls, 10-8.With the win, the Mustangs improved to 4-8 overall, 1-0 in district play.

A Tree Care and Maintenance Workshop will be held Friday, March 22nd at the Sudan Community Center at 109 E. 1st Ave in Sudan, Texas, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.The workshop will begin at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and donuts being served.
