Hornets, mustnags split double-header

The Sudan Hornets and Olton Mustang’s varsity baseball team split a double-header on Wednesday in Olton. Olton took game one, 8- 6, while Sudan won game two, 22-3.In game one, both teams scratched three runs across in the first inning, before going scoreless through the second inning.

Nettes blast Fillies, 20-1, in first meeting

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity softball team blasted the Olton Fillies on Tuesday, 20-1, in their first meeting of district play.With the win, the Nettes improve to 10-10 overall, 8-5 in district play.

Bownds/sawyer punch ticket to regionals

Julie Bownds and Chloe Sawyer came into district as the #2 seed and played Brownfield in the first round, to which they won 6--2, 6-3. In the second round, they played #3 seed Lamesa in the semifinals, to which they won 6-2, 6-3.

Wildcats run-rule Mules, 11-1

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity baseball team got back in the win column on Tuesday evening, as they took down the Muleshoe Mules, 11-1, at Wildcat Field to sweep the season series.With the win, the Wildcats improve to 11-8 overall, 4-2 in district play.

The Olton Mustangs dropped a tough contest in Littlefield to the New Deal Lions on Wednesday, 11-9, a game which was originally scheduled for Tuesday in Olton.With the loss, the Mustangs fall to 6-3 in district play.
