Lady Cats win thriller over Muleshoe, 19-18

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity softball team won a thriller in Muleshoe on Saturday, taking down the Lady Mules, 19-18.With the win, the Lady Cats improve to 3-1 in district play.Amaya McCanick started in the circle for the Lady Cats, pitching 4.

Wildcats take down Mules in extras, 7-6

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity baseball team went on the road Saturday and took down the Muleshoe Mules in extra innings, 7-6.With the win, the Wildcats improve to 1-1 in district play.

Wildcats fall to Post in tournament-opener, 6-3

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity baseball team dropped their tournamentopener against Post on Thursday, 6-3, in the Lamb County Classic.Gabe Mata pitched 6.1 innings for the Wildcats, giving up five hits and six runs, one earned, while striking out six batters. Ana Ayala pitched 0.

Wolverines finish 1-2 at the Lamb County Classic

The Springlake- Earth Wolverines’ varsity baseball team went 1-2 at the Lamb County Classic this past weekend, as they defeated Morton, before falling to the West Texas Tornadoes and Dimmitt’s JV.In their first game on Friday against Morton, the Wolverines took down the Indians, 19-3.

Mustangs finish 1-1-1 at Lamb County CLassic

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity baseball team went 1-1-1 at the Lamb County Classic this past weekend, as they battled with Post, Friona and Morton.In their first game on Thursday against Post, the Mustangs tied with the Antelopes, 7-7.

Wildfires increase across state

Fire officials are continuing to warn of high fire danger throughout the week as strong winds persist.The 8 Ball Fire burned an estimated 13,000 acres and remains 55% contained, forcing the evacuation of nearly 400 homes and threatening 1,000 more.
