The Olton varsity and JV cross country teams competed at the Oil Patch Invitational in Sundown last weekend, where the Mustangs placed third overall as a team with 61 points. The Mustangs were led by Casimiro Villareal, who won the meet, clocking a time of 19:06.28.
Joshua Seaton also placed in the top 10, finishing sixth overall with a time of 20:22.11. Santiago Jimenez finished 25th overall with a time of 21:36.15, while Jaydyn Vega finished 29th overall with a time of 22:15.26, and Zachary Magallanes finished 33rd with a time of 22:39.46.
The Fillies’ varsity team was led by Gabriella Reyes, who placed fifth overall with a time of 14:59.06.
The JV Fillies placed second with 30 points, led by Alicia Florentino, who placed fifth overall with a time of 17:11.37. Magaly Rios finished ninth overall with a time of 18:16.80, while Kali Soliz placed 10th overall with a time of 18:20.65, and Xavyree Arredondo finished 11th with a time of 18:43.17.
Milagros Guerrero finished 15th with a time of 20:53.57, while Gabriela Pedroza finished 16th with a time of 20:57.60, and Hailey Franklin finished 20th with a time of 22:26.42. Valeria Sanchez finished 22nd with a time of 24:43.06.
The Mustangs’ JV team placed first with 15 points, led by Joshua Jalomo, who placed first overall with a time of 20:31.65, and Joseph Morphis, who placed second overall with a time of 20:57.13.
Dyllan Amaya finished fourth overall with a time of 22:34.22, while Alex Rodriguez finished fifth overall with a time of 22:35.50, and Ezra Montemayor placed sixth with a time of 22:51.02. Zekey Marquez placed ninth with a time of 23:35.78, while Logan Martinez finished 17th with a time of 29:33.53, and Raymond Fleming finished 18th with a time of 30:40.54.
Conner DeBerry finished 20th with a time of 38:18.68.
