Nettes sting Lady Lopes, 96-48, in Bi-district win

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team swarmed the Post Lady Lopes on Tuesday evening at Lubbock-Cooper High School en route to a, 96-48, victory to claim the 2A Region I Bi-District trophy.

With the win, the Nettes improve to 15-12 overall on the year.

The Nettes came out on fire in the opening quarter, pouring in 26 points to take a, 26-10, lead into quarter number two. In the second frame, they added 24 points, making the score, 50-26, going into the locker room at halftime.

Sudan posted 22 points in the third quarter and 24 points in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 96-48.

Sophomore, Stevi Lockhart, led the team in scoring with 26 points, to go along with four rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Junior, Addison Boehning, posted a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds, to go along with five assists and five steals.

Junior, Sydney Cornelius, joined them in double-figures scoring posting 13 points and three rebounds, while sophomore, Gracyn Shultz, chipped in 11 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. Senior, Zoey Cantu, contributed eight points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal, while sophomore, Braelyn Pointer, tallied eight points, three rebounds and one assist.

Junior, Liz Sital, contributed three points, four assists, one rebound and one steal, while sophomore, Kambry Tolbert, notched three points, six rebounds and one steal and sophomore, Landree Gonzales, added two rebounds two assists and one block.

Sophomore, Elaine Martinez, tallied two rebounds and two steals, while sophomore, Riley Edens, finished with one rebound and two steals.

The Nettes will play the winner of Colorado and Ozona in the 2A Area round of the Play-offs next week.
