Nettes grind out win against Farwell, 57-48

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team closed out the predistrict schedule on Tuesday with a home victory over Farwell, 57-48.

With the win, the Nettes improve to 6-11 overall heading into district play.

In the first quarter, Farwell jumped out to a, 16-10, lead, but the Nettes poured in 16 points in the second quarter to make it a one-point game, 27-26, going into the locker room at halftime.

They added 16 points in the third quarter to take the lead, 42-39, heading into the final quarter of play. In the final frame, the Nettes outscored the Lady Blue, 15-9, to take the contest, 57-48.

Junior, Addison Boehning, led the Nettes with a double-double, pouring in 21 points and 14 rebounds to go along with one assist and one steal. Sophomore, Gracyn Shultz, tallied, 14 points, three rebounds, two steals and one assist, while sophomore, Stevi Lockhart, chipped in 11 points, three assists and two rebounds.

Junior, Liz Sital, tallied four points, two assists and one rebound, while sophomore, Landree Gonzales, finished with three points. Senior, Zoey Cantu, contributed two points and one rebound, while sophomore, Braelyn Pointer, added two points, three rebounds and one steal and sophomore, Sydnie Cornelius, finished with one rebound and two assists.

The Nettes will open up district play on Jan. 5th at home against Seagraves.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
