Nettes fall to Wellington, 51-23

    The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team fell to the Wellington Lady Rockets last Saturday, 51-23, in the Regional Semi-Final, as their season came to an end.

    With the loss, the Nettes finish the season with a mark of 17-13 overall on the season.

    Wellington jumped out in front early in the game, taking a, 10-4, lead into quarter number two. In the second frame, they outscored the Nettes, 17-3, taking a, 27-7, lead into the locker room at halftime.

    Sudan poured in 10 points in the third quarter, as Wellington took a, 42-17, lead into the final quarter of play. The Lady Rockets outscored Sudan, 9-6, in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 51-23.
