The Olton Mustangs’ varsity basketball team took on Loop on Saturday, routing the Longhorns, 95-14, at home.
With the win, the Mustangs improve to, 6-1 overall on the season.
Olton came out of the gates firing, as they jumped out to a, 23-3, lead through quarter number one. They Mustangs erupted for 33 points in the second quarter to take a, 56-9, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Olton opened the second half with a 23-point third quarter and closed it out with 16 points in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 95-14.
Jack Allcorn led the team in scoring with a game-high 20 points, and he was joined in double-figures scoring by Chris Urbina, who netted 16 points, Andrew Martinez, who tallied 15 points and Brennon Huguley, who finished with 14 points.
Israel Santillan, chipped in nine points, while Aldo Vasquez contributed fix points and Jake Soliz finished with five points. Alex Santillan finished the game with four points.
The Mustangs were at Sundown on Tuesday to take on the Roughnecks. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Friday with a road trip to Plains to take on the Cowboys. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
