The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity basketball team fell to New Home last Saturday, 55-50, dropping them to 5-4 overall on the season.
New Home took a seven-point lead in the first quarter, 14-7, and erupted for 22 points in the second quarter, making the score, 36-23, going into the locker room at halftime.
The Wildcats battled back in the second half, holding the Leopards to just five points in the third quarter, cutting the lead to, 41-37. But, in the fourth quarter the Wildcats were edged out, 14-13, as they fell to the Leopards, 55-50, on the road.
Senior forward, Tyree Jones, led the team in scoring with a teamhigh 26 points. He was joined in double-figures scoring by senior forward, Chris Brown, who finished with 11 points.
Junior, Jordan Trevino, finished with six points, while senior, Joseph Salinas, tallied five points and senior, Caden Longoria, chipped in two points in the game.
