The Anton Bulldogs’ varsity football team finished the season as Distrct 3-l A champs, Bi-district champs and Regional Finalists. Their District 3-1A All-District team selections were headlined by senior, Quinton Sherrod, who was named the District’s Defensive MVP and Head Coach Matthew Hoover, who was named the District’s Coach of the year.
The First team All-District offensive selections are headlined by junior, Sergio Champion, who was named the offensive MVP.
First team offense selections include junior tight end, Ashton Martinez; junior, wide receiver, Lane Vellinga; senior spread center, Joseph Servantes and sophomore running back, Gage Garcia.
First team defensive selections include sophomore noseguard, Slade Hodges; defensive end, Martinez; linebacker, Servantes; safety, Garcia and safety, Champion.
Second team offensive selections include junior tight end, Edmundo Avalos; junior wide receiverRayden Cooper and sophomore running back, Dylan Gaitan. Second team defensive selections include junior noseguardAdam Lopez; defensive lineman, Dylan Gaitan; defensive linemanRayden Cooper and punter, Garcia.
Sherrod was also selected to the 2021 All-Star football game in Wichita Falls. Servantes has been selected as the first alternate to the All-Star football game.
