TxDOT announces $85 billion transportation plan
The Texas Department of Transportation has adopted a 10-year statewide roadway construction plan with a record $85 billion price tag, officials announced last week.
To the Patrons of Littlefield ISD: It is hard to believe we are completing our third week of school! Kudos to our teachers and students for getting right back into the groove of school from day one.
With each passing year, I am less likely to categorize occurrences as coincidences, happenstances or even “blind hog” luck. Now, it is probable that on significant matters, I’ll classify many of them as divine interventions or acts of God, His angels or others He might designate.

Flooding prompts disaster declaration Heavy rains through Texas last week caused flooding, particularly in the Dallas area, prompting Gov. Greg Abbott to issue a disaster declaration for 23 affected counties.
“Doting” is an adjective often used to describe grandparents. In the case of Rick and Becky Cadden, however, “pranking” might be a better fit.
Theirs is a family whose members are on perpetual look-out for ways to get a leg up in the prankster department, and grandchildren are not off limits.
We laughed intermittently for weeks about our decision to embark on a 3,000-mile road trip because we didn’t have time to fly. As the date neared and mass media folks conveyed horror tales of passengers stranded in airports or delayed, our decision to take to the highways seemed wellfounded.
To the Patrons of Littlefield ISD: It was certainly good to see our student body return to school on Monday. We have had a fabulous start to the beginning of a new school year and I would like to thank our students, parents, teachers and staff members who made this possible.
As chapters of life unfold, unlikely coincidences occur that are so rare that surely providence is behind the steering wheel. No doubt whoever won that $1.
