In Loving Memory Of Ronnie Dale Martin

Ronnie Dale Martin, 64, of Littlefield, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on March 25, 1961, in Crosbyton, Texas to Wes and Jowanna Martin.

After the first grade, Ronnie transferred to Littlefield ISD and Littlefield, Texas became his forever home. Ronnie played football for the Littlefield Wildcats and was captain his senior year and ran track during his sophomore, junior, and senior years of high school. He was awarded for the All-District Wide Receiver and All-District Defensive Back his senior year. Ronnie was also awarded All South Plains Wide Receiver Honorable Mention his senior year. He graduated from Littlefield High School in 1979. Ronnie proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1979 – 1985. Serving in the Air Force was a commitment that he always spoke of with honor and pride. He returned to Littlefield in 1992 and soon after, he went to work at the American Cotton Growers denim plant. That same year, he met his soon-tobe beloved wife, Renee Ball. They went on a blind date and that led to Ronnie marrying Renee on October 12, 1996. He shared twenty-nine years of marriage with his devoted wife, whom he loved deeply.

Ronnie started working for Littlefield Independent School District in 1999. He worked for twenty-six years within the Littlefield ISD system, where he was a beloved presence. Ronnie was an avid Wildcat fan and was known as 'The Voice of the Wildcats' for twenty-six years. He was the PA announcer for Littlefield basketball, football, baseball, and track. This role allowed his voice, humor, and enthusiasm to become part of countless memories for students, athletes, and families. Ronnie lived a life rooted in service, laughter, and love for his family and community. Ronnie had one son, Andrew, who also attended Littlefield ISD. He graduated from high school in 2005 and followed his father's footsteps by serving his country as a United States Marine. Ronnie was known as 'Paw Paw' for his granddaughters. He loved his family, his life, and people. Ronnie had a way of lifting spirits of those who encountered him. Ronnie will be remembered for his service, his jokes, and the humor he shared so freely with others.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Renee Martin of Littlefield, Texas; a son, Andrew Martin of Seattle, Washington; two grandchildren, Isobelle Martin and Taylor Martin of Washington; one brother, Mike Martin and wife, Kari of Littlefield, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Wes and Jowanna Martin.

Memorial service for Ronnie Martin was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Littlefield, Texas with Pastor Tanner Wilson officiating.
