Raymond Dale Harper

Graveside service for Raymond Dale Harper, age 93, of Sudan, TX, were held Wednesday afternoon, January 5, 2021, at Sudan Cemetery with Cam Givan and Larry Springer officiating. He died Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, in Sudan.

Raymond was born April 18, 1928, in Hall County, TX to Lewis and Della (Hemphill) Harper. He graduated from Sudan High School in 1946. He married Mary Helen Holtkamp in Littlefield, TX on August 18, 1950. Raymond farmed most of his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and twin brother, Tillman David Harper.

Raymond was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; and his five children: son, Don Harper and his wife, Barbara of Placedo, TX; Don’s four sons: Donald Harper and his wife, Sheri, Daniel Harper and his wife, Heather, Dustin Harper and his wife, Tabatha, and Doug Harper and his wife Erin; daughter, Lisa Mills and her husband, Tom of Katy, TX; Lisa’s children: Brooke Mills and Drew Mills; daughter, Lori Davison and her husband, Mart of Sudan; Lori’s three daughters: Ashley Martinez and her husband, Ben, Jacey Reeves and her husband, Heath, and Lindsey Davison; son, Dale Harper and his wife, Laurie of Houston, TX; Dale’s two sons: Seth Harper and his wife, Erin, and Eli Harper; son, David Harper and his wife, Rita of Sudan; David’s three sons: Adam Harper, Andrew Harper and Aaron Harper; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; his sister, Jan Sinclair of Amarillo, TX; and a brother, Edwin Harper of Sudan.
