Maria Luisa Hernandez, 88, of Littlefield passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 in Lubbock. She was born Oct. 18, 1933 in Monterrey, Mexico to Concepcion Lopez and Maria Troncosco DeLuz.
Luisa married Federico Hernandez in 1958 in Rio Grande, TX. The couple moved to Littlefield 42 years ago and made their home here. She was an excellent cook and a talented seamstress. She liked walking and playing Mexican Bingo. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Luisa was a Catholic.
She is survived by her husband, Federico Hernandez of Littlefield; three daughters, Iris Alaniz of Rio Grande, TX, Laura Hernandez of Dallas and Gina Tijerina of Littlefield; six sons, Carlos Hernandez of Dallas, Federico Hernandez, Jr. of Dumas, Fernando Hernandez of Mexico, George Hernandez of Littlefield, Juan Hernandez of Littlefield and David Hernandez of Dallas; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Juanita Gonzales, Laura Lopez and Juanita Lopez all of Mexico; two brothers, Jose Lopez of
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Rosa Nely Hernandez; and four brothers.
Funeral Mass was held Monday afternoon, Dec. 27, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield with Father Angelo Consemino officiating. Rosary was recited Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home.
