Wilma Priddy, 100, of Littlefield, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, April 19, 2022 in Amherst, Texas. She was born June 8, 1921 in Hobart, Oklahoma to James Solomon Ellis and Melissa (McBride) Ellis.

Wilma married William Eugene Priddy May 11, 1941 in the parsonage of the Amherst First Baptist Church. She was an LVN and served in the medical field for many years, under Dr. Chatwell, Dr. Hinkley and Dr. Burditt. She worked at the Amherst Hospital, the Littlefield Hospital and Littlefield Hospitality House. She also worked for Hammons Funeral Home for many years. Wilma was a devout Christian and strong in her faith. She taught Sunday School classes, was a member of WMU (Womens Ministry Union) and was active at her church, Amherst First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Home Extension Club.

Wilma is survived by a daughter, Joy Simpson and husband, Gilbert of Loranger, LA; two daughter-in-laws, Connie Priddy of Highlands Ranch, CO and Sue Ellen Priddy of Littlefield; seven grandchildren, Dale, Ronnie, Darrell, Kim, Natalie, Christi and Ginger; fourteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons, Paul Priddy, Jim Priddy and Darrell Priddy; two grandchildren, Shasta and Theresa; her parents; six brothers, Jim, Dan, Lewis, Ray, Gene and Benny; and a sister, Iris.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Amherst with Pastor Harold Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Littlefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the funeral service from 1:00 until 1:45 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Amherst First Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
