Marcelino “Charlie” Lara, 82, of Littlefield passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 in Littlefield. He was born Sept. 8, 1939 in Rosebud, TX to Rufus Lara and Margarita Quintero Lara.
Charlie married Lilly Lara on March 27, 1956 in Littlefield. The couple owned and operated the ‘Tasty Taco’ for over 20 years in Littlefield, and after it closed they started the ‘Burrito Express’. Charlie was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed going to Casinos, and loved going to Sonic everyday for his ice cream cone. He was a Catholic.
Funeral Mass was held Friday afternoon, Oct. 22, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield with Father Brian Wood officiating. Interment followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rosary was recited Thursday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
