George Culp, age 71, of Levelland, passed away on April 29, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2022 at the Littlefield Memorial Park with Harvey McClanahan officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday evening, at the Parkview Baptist Church in Littlefield. Arrangements are under the care of the Moore-Rose Funeral Home.

George was born on November 24, 1950 in Muleshoe, Texas to James Earl and Ruth (Cunningham) Culp. George honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1968 to 1971. He was awarded the National Defense & Vietnam Service Medals along with the Bronze Star Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. After returning stateside, George married the love of his life, Diane Collins on November 4, 1971 in Littlefield. The couple was blessed with their daughter Michelle and over 50 years of marriage.

George was a talented individual and a hard worker. After his days in the Army, he worked for the State of Texas in the Highway Department and eventually worked as a truck driver. Later, he would obtain his degree and become a computer system analyst. He would work for major companies like EDS and the United States Department of Defense. However, his most important job was taking care of his family. His grandchildren called him ‘pawpaw’ and loved him so very much. He will be missed by all.

George is survived by his wife, Diane Culp; his brother, Weldon H. Culp; a daughter, Michelle Assel (Jason); his grandchildren, Zackary Culp, Marissa Jordan (Cain Wolf), Katie Assel; and several cousins, nieces and nephews; and many, many friends and coffee buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant daughter, Georgia Diane Culp; and his brother, Edwin Lee Culp.
