Charles Edward Bailey, age 79, of Pear Valley, Texas passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022 in Eden, Texas. Charlie, as he was known to family and friends, was born October 28, 1942 in Dalhart, Texas to Charles Edward Bailey and Dorothy Nell (Fletcher) Bailey.

He studied as an electrician in the U.S. Navy and finally settled in Earth, Texas where he lived for over 44 years. He owned and operated Superior Services for over 30 years. He sold, installed and serviced pivot irrigation systems in several states. In addition, he bought farmland along the way, pursuing his dream of farming and owning land. He was married to Judy Kay Bailey from 1967 to 2012. He married Patricia Ann Turner on September 29, 2012 in Earth, Texas. Charlie and Pat moved to Pear Valley in 2020, where they made their home.

Graveside services for Charles Bailey will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022 at the Pear Valley Cemetery in Pear Valley with Rev. Eric Creel officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday morning, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. Charles Bailey is survived by his wife, Patricia (Turner) Bailey; sons, John Torres-Rojas and partner, Eufemio of Brooklyn, New York and Terry Bailey and wife, Deirdre of Abernathy, Texas; daughter, Sandi Bailey of Carlsbad, California; step-sons, Rich Puryear and wife, Pam of Lubbock, Texas and Scott Puryear and wife, Marie of Casper, Wyoming; brothers, Carl Bailey and wife, Debbie of Dalhart, Texas, Roy Bailey and wife, Carolyn of McClain, Texas and Dale Bailey and wife, Belinda of Des Moines, Iowa; sisters, Dottie Couturie and husband, Ronald of Las Vegas, Nevada, Nancy Scott and husband, Art of New Braunfels, Texas and Ella Maitland and husband, Bryan of Azel, Texas; grandchildren, Myka, Kye and Bree Tatum Bailey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
