In Loving Memory Of July 25, 1926 ~ Oct. 9, 2022
Lorene Billingsley, 96, of Littlefield Texas, peacefully completed her time on this earth on October 9, 2022 at Library of Legacies.
Lorene was born on July 25, 1926 to Kimbrew and Sabra (Smith) Barnett in Sharp County Arkansas. Lorene attended school at Tiban and Clovis where she graduated from in 1944. Lorene married Garland Condy Billingsley on May 11, 1947 in Oklahoma Lane, TX. Condy and Lorene were blessed with three boys, Rod, Ted and Sam.
Lorene was a minister's wife all of her life and cherished each and every relationship she made at the several churches they served. She remained in touch with many of the various church families throughout her life. After Condy retired from Abernathy Church of Christ in 1985, they returned to Clovis to help care for her parents in their later years. She moved to Littlefield in 2015 where she remained until her death.
Lorene cherished her family, not just her immediate family but her many nieces and nephews. She loved to be in the mountains at Blue Haven in New Mexico and spent many summers there with Condy, her sister, Louise, and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Condy in 2011; her parents; sister, Louise Rodgers and brother, K Barnett.
She is survived by her sons: Rod and wife, Karen of Las Vegas, NM, Ted and wife, Connie of Amarillo, TX and Sam and wife, Kim of Littlefield, TX; grandchildren: LeaAnn and husband, Danny Marquez of Rio Rancho, NM, Cara Billingsley of Rio Rancho, NM, Julie and husband, Angelo Lucero of Las Vegas, NM, Chris and wife, Chante, Michelle and husband, Victor Rodriguez, Aubrey and husband, Jered all of Amarillo, TX, Angela and husband, Robin Teague of Dallas, TX, Samuel and wife, Callie of Brownfield, TX, Matt of Angel Fire, NM, Gilbert Jones and husband, Matthew Andersen of Cleveland, OH, and Thad Jones of Tahoka; 25 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; Brother, Bill Barnett and wife, of Las Vegas, NM; Sister-in-law, Elaine Barnett of Lubbock TX; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved throughout the years.
The family would like to thank the staff at Library of Legacies in Littlefield for the wonderful love and care they showed to Lorene over the last five years. They would also like to thank Legacy of Love Hospice (especially Terry Stansel, Crystal Davis, and Norma Cotton) who treated her just like family over the last several months as she made her final preparations to meet her Lord.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Sudan Church of Christ with Ken Barnett, Ted Billingsley and Sam Billingsley officiating. Interment followed in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
