March 30, 1938 ~ April 15, 2022
Larry Glenn McCain was born on March 30, 1938 in Deming, New Mexico to William Dee McCain and Emily Audrey Parks McCain. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 15, 2022.
While going the wrong direction on one of Littlefield's one-way streets, he met and fell in love with, and later married the love of his life, Patsy LaRue Burns McCain. The night of their wedding on September 16, 1956 the newlyweds moved to Morenci, Arizona where he worked in the copper mines and some 10 years later, in 1966, they moved back to West Texas and began his farming career. After retiring from farming he became a mechanic, and later a car salesman, and finished his professional career teaching auto mechanics at Littlefield High School, until he retired. When Patsy retired, the couple traveled extensively pulling their travel trailer around the nation and in Canada for a good number of years. After just over 65-1/2 years of marriage to the love of his life, Larry concluded, "so I guess this means we are officially going steady!"
He is survived by the following who will miss him dearly, but will have a host of treasured memories to hold a special place in their hearts: his loving wife, Patsy McCain of Littlefield; three sons, Douglas Glen McCain and wife, Tammy of Lubbock, Dennis McCain and wife, Debbie of Littlefield and Keith McCain and wife, Jan of Littlefield; seven grandchildren, Kelly Ufford and husband, Gary of Lubbock, Misty Garza and husband, Angel of Sudan, Steven McCain and wife, Kristen of Littlefield, Jeremy Polk and wife, Jenny of Rockwall, Megan Johnson and husband, Ty of Levelland, Shawn Hudnall and husband, Zach of Pflugerville, and DJ Walker and wife, Berta of San Marcos; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Justin McCain.
