In Loving Memory Of Dorothy Grace Francis

A faithful and loyal servant of Jesus Christ; a true fisherman of our Lord and Savior. His light shined bright within her and this world is a better place because of that. Dorothy Grace Francis, 95, of Amarillo Texas, passed away in Amarillo surrounded by loved ones on February 11, 2025.
Dorothy was born in Ryan, Oklahoma, on July 28, 1929, to Vollie and Myrtle Dickerson. She was raised in Hollis, OK. Where she met the love of her life Choice Francis.
She married Choice in 1946, and they raised their family in Littlefield. She was the true matriarch of her family. She took her role seriously and carried on that role to help raise and support her 14 grandchildren. In addition to her 14 grandchildren, she has 31 greatgrandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She loved all of them equally.
Dorothy was involved with the Bridges to Life prison ministries and opened her door to local women in need. She was a true blessing to not just her family, but the community as well. She never passed judgment on anyone and was always willing to meet you where you were at. She loved you no matter the circumstance. To know her was to love her. Though her presence will be greatly missed, we rejoice in knowing that she is where her heart desired most, and that is with her Lord and Savior.
She loved each of us fiercely and had a knack for making each of us feel as if we were her favorite. Her door was always opened, but most importantly her Bible was always opened. If she had met you, she had prayed for you. Her prayers will be missed by all that knew her.
She is proceeded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jean, Charles and CE Dickerson; her husband; and one son, Bill Francis.
She is survived by six children, Jim and Teresa Francis of Lubbock, Sherri Jesko and Merri Lewis of Amarillo, Vollena and Dick Skeens of Hale Center, Glenny and Debbie Francis of Levelland, and Kenny Francis of Amarillo; and three sisters, Wonda Martin, Barbara Pair and Peggy Riney.
Please join us in a Celebration of Life on February 19, 2025 at 1:00 pm. at Hillcrest Funeral Home. The family will have visitation on Tuesday, February 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. at Hillcrest Funeral Home.
