Betty Hackler Slaughter, 88 of Levelland, TX, formerly of Olton, TX, passed away on April 25, 2025, in Levelland. Graveside services were held at Olton Cemetery, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 3:00 pm., with Rev. Phil McClendon of First Methodist Church, Levelland, officiating and under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Betty was born, Aug. 4, 1936, in Park Springs, TX, to Ernest Eugene and Iva Mae (Alexander) Buckner. On Oct. 8, 1954, Betty married Bruce Hackler in Sunnyside, TX. After Bruce’s passing, in 2003, Betty moved from Olton to Levelland, and on November 19, 2005, she married J. L. Slaughter. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church in Olton, and upon moving to Levelland, she became a member of Second Baptist Church in Levelland.
Betty is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; a daughter; a son-in-law; second husband; two brothers; and two sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory: two daughters; a brother; and a sister; eight Grandchildren; and 13 Great Grandchildren.
Betty is also survived by a Bonus son; three Grandchildren; and six Great Grandchildren.
