Albert "Al" Ayala, 65, of Littlefield passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 in Littlefield. He was born on January 15, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas to Rudy Ayala Sr. and Olivia Sanchez Ayala.

Al worked as a butcher for many years, for Pay-N-Save Grocery Stores and Littlefield Meat Locker. He loved sitting outside with his wife, drinking coffee and visiting with friends and family.

He loved his family more than anything, especially being a "Popo" to his grandchildren. He liked cooking outside and having all of his family over to eat and hang out. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing 31, and being out on the boat. He was an avid sports fan, and especially loved the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a Catholic.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Torres Ayala of Littlefield; three sons, Isaac Ayala and wife, Rhonda of Amarillo, Jacob Daniel Ayala and wife, Shannon of Lakewood, Colorado and Adam Garcia of Lubbock; eight grandchildren, Isiah Ayala of Plainview, Justin Ayala of Hawaii, Aeriel Ayala of Littlefield, Rebekah Cantu and husband, Anakin of Lubbock, Dusty Garcia of Amarillo, David Ayala of Amarillo, Amelia Grace Ayala of Amarillo and Brody Ayala of Colorado; four great grandchildren, Annaliya Ayala, Houston Ayala, Brilynn Ayala and Paisley Ayala; his father, Rudy Ayala, Sr. of Littlefield; four brothers, Sonny Ayala of New Braunfels, Rudy Ayala of Mesquite, Chris Ayala of Littlefield and Joseph Ayala of Littlefield; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and a brother, Robert Ayala.

Funeral Mass was held Friday morning, January 28, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield with Father Angelo Consemino officiating. Interment followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Ruben Torres, Israel Torres, Alfonso Torres, David Cervantez, Chris Ayala, and Joseph Ayala. Rosary was recited Thursday evening, January 27, at Grace Chapel in the funeral home. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
