Springlake Volunteer Fire Dept. to host 4th of July Parade and Picnic on Tuesday

Springlake’s annual July 4th Celebration will be getting underway at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2023, when entries in the annual parade will be lining up in the area on the south side of the city.

The parade will start moving northward down Highway 385 at 6 p.m., and when it reaches Highway 70, it will turn westward to the city park on the west side of town.

The Springlake Volunteer Fire Department is hosting the entire event, and invites all of their friends and neighbors in Lamb County and surrounding counties, to “come out and enjoy a great time of food and fellowship.”

They would like to have a huge parade this year, and everyone interested is invited and welcome to go line-up and participate.

They would especially like to have as many fire trucks as possible, and are inviting all of the county’s fire departments to “come on over and wear your colors!”

Youth groups are invited to put together a float and put them in the Springlake parade.

After the conclusion of the parade, everyone is invited to gather in the Springlake City Park on the west end of town.

The featured band this year is the popular Will Bannister.

All of the donated cakes and various other items will be auctioned at 6:45 p.m. with awards giving.

Members of the Springlake Volunteer Fire Department will be grilling hamburger patties and wieners for a $10 hamburger and hot dog meal, with ice cream and cake that will “top it off” following the auction.

The well-known “awesome” fireworks display will begin at dark.
