On January 30th 2023 at approximately 11:08 pm Littlefield Police Department responded to the home of Edward Jimenez Jr., who was found deceased from a gunshot wound. Jimenez’s vehicle was also reported stolen, and an attempt to locate was put out to surrounding law enforcement agencies. The vehicle was found abandoned by Littlefield PD the following day.
Littlefield PD and the Texas Ranger’s Company C began a joint investigation. Information gathered during the investigation ultimately led investigators to conclude they had probable cause to arrest Edwin Gutierrez for the murder.
On May 3rd an interview was conducted with Gutierrez; afterwards, an arrest warrant was served by Littlefield PD, and Gutierrez was transported and booked into the Lamb County Jail where he is currently being held on $750,000 bond.
