The motion was made by Commissioner Cory DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to approve the Consent Agenda Items. The motion carried.

The next item on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action to bury a water line in Precinct 1.

Commissionr DeBerry spoke about this item, stating, “It’s going to be on CR 219, but they haven’t done it yet. They’re waiting on paperwork.”

The motion was made by Commissioner DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Short to approve burying the waterline, contingent on the paperwork being submitted. The motion carried.

Next was to consider and take appropriate action on Interlocal agreement with Sudan for assistance with their local home delivered meal program.

Judge DeLoach stated, “We talked about this during the budget, but it’s an amount of money and we have an interlocal agreement with Sudan’s local home delivered meal program. District Attorney Rickie Redman didn’t have any issues with it at first glance, and neither do I, but if we do approve this, I would like to have it contingent on DA Redman signing off on it.”

The motion to approve the agreement was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Short contingent that District Attorney Rickie Redman looking it over. The motion carried.

The next item was consider and take appropriate action to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages on County Property during the Flatland Music Festival.

“I’ve received another request from the Flatland Music Festival committee,” Judge DeLoach said. “Buddy Holmes is the one who has come and visited with me about it. Rickie is looking over it; we got a copy of their insurance policy. I did tell him we would prefer it be done by a company that would come in and take care of that for them. The other request I made was that they identify the county in their liability policy. Rickie is looking everything over, because she wants to look into it further, so she didn’t want us to fully approve it just yet. So what I’m asking today is to see if we want to move forward with her looking into it.”

He added, “If this is approved, no coolers would be allowed to be brought in from the outside. This is also an effort to be able to better police the underage drinking issues. They have to have our permission to do this, because we do not allow alcohol on the county property.”

The motion was made by Commissioner Logan and seconded by Commissioner Short to go forward with it. The motion carried.

Cindy Pope gave an update on Lamb Healthcare Center operations.

The Commissioners went into Executive Session at 10:26 a.m. and returned to regular session at 10:37 a.m.
