HPWD received 51 administratively complete applications for water well permits during January 2023.
Three permits completed during this month were for the Dockum Aquifer. All three were in Deaf Smith County; two other permits were issued for that county.
Two permits were issued for Lamb County, one permit was issued for Hockley County, and 19 were issued for Cochran County.
Ten permits were issued for Lynn County, four for Castro, three for Lubbock, two for Floyd, and one each for Parmer and Hale counties.
Approximately 443 water well permit applications have been submitted since the beginning of the fiscal year (October 2022.) This is 105 more requests than in the same period last year.
