The Amherst Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team fell to the Whitharral Panthers on Friday, 75-38, in district play.
The Bulldogs netted eight point in the first quarter, but trailed after one frame, 16- 8. The Panthers outscored the Bulldogs, 12-8, in quarter number two to take a, 28- 16, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Whitharral caught fire in the second half, pouring in 22 points in the third quarter and 25 points in the fourth quarter, as the Bulldogs fell to the Panthers, 75-38. Joel Garcia led the Bulldogs in scoring with 17 points, while Aiden Rodriguez chipped in six points, and Isaac Herrera and Yahir Garcia each tallied four points. Kevin Garcia chipped in three points and Gabriel Garcia and Oscar Contreras each added two points in the contest.
