With only the National Championship remaining in our Bowl Pick- Em Challenge, Teresa Dabrowski leads the field with 35 points.
On Tuesday, Dec. 27th, Georgia Southern defeated Buffalo in the Camellia Bowl, 23-21, while Memphis took down Utah State, 38-10, in the First Responder Bowl, and East Carolina blasted Coastal Carolina, 53-29, in the Birmingham Bowl. Wisconsin also knocked off Oklahoma State, 24-17, in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.
On Dec. 28th, Oregon won a thriller over North Carolina, 28-27, in the Holiday Bowl, while Texas Tech defeated Ole Miss, 42-25, in the Texas Bowl, and Duke took down UCF, 30-13, in the Military Bowl. Arkansas also won a threeovertime thriller over Kansas, 5553, in the Liberty Bowl.
On Dec. 29th, Washington defeated Texas, 27-20, in the Alamo Bowl, while Minnesota took down Syracuse in the Pinstripe Bowl, 2820, and Florida State knocked off Oklahoma, 35-32, in the Cheez-It Bowl.
On Dec. 30th, Notre Dame rallied past South Carolina, 45-38, to win the Gator Bowl, while Maryland defeated North Carolina State, 1612, in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, and Pittsburgh beat UCLA, 37-28, in the Sun Bowl. Clemson also fell to Tennessee in Orange Bowl, 3114.
On Dec. 31st, Alabama knocked off Kansas State, 45-20, in the Sugar Bowl, while Iowa shutout Kentucky, 21-0, in the Music City Bowl. In the College Football Playoff Semi- Final games, TCU stunned Michigan, 51-45, in the Fiesta Bowl, while Georgia survived a scare from Ohio State, 4241, in the Peach Bowl.
On Jan. 2nd, Mississippi State downed Illinois, 19-10, in the ReliaQuest Bowl, while Tulane stunned USC, 46-45, to win the Cotton Bowl. LSU pounded Purdue, 63-7, in the Citrus Bowl, while Penn State defeated Utah, 35-21, in the Rose Bowl.
The National Championship will be played on Monday, Jan. 9th, with our final results being published in the Wednesday, Jan. 11th edition of the Leader-News.
Individual Point Totals are as follows: Johnny Rosemond and Ben Eastepp are tied for second with 29 points each, while Richard Orozco, Mark Grace, Tommy Cloninger and Lonnie Neinast are tied for third with 28 points each. John Hernandez and JC Orozco are tied for fourth with 26 points, while Martin Duran is in fifth with 22 points and Ed Dabrowski rounds out the field with 21 points.
