Commissioners hold regular meeting Monday morning

The County Commissioners Court met in regular session Monday, Nov. 28, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Lamb County Courthouse.

Judge James M. DeLoach called the meeting to order at 10 a.m., gave the invocation and led the United States and Texas Pledges.

No one spoke for public comment.

The Consent Agenda Items were as follows: Consider and take appropriate action on minutes from the two previous meetings, the Monday, Nov. 14, 2022 regular meeting and the Friday, Nov. 18, 2022 special meeting; Consider and take appropriate action on budget and salary amendments and/or line item transfers, which there were none; Consider and take appropriate action on bills presented by the County Auditor, Gina Jones; Consider and take appropriate action on payroll, which was presented by Jerry Yarbrough; Consider and take appropriate action on departmental reports, which there were none; and Consider and take appropriate action on Tax deed R15983 and R23606.

A motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the consent agenda items. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Danny Short. The motion carried.

Item number four on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on Kim Clardy and Toni Montes attending CADCALEAF Grant Conference in Harbor, Maryland Jan. 30, 2023 through Feb. 2, 2023.

A motion was made by Commissioner Kent Lewis and seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the travel for Kim Clardy and Toni Montes. The motion carried.

The next item on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on the adoption of Addendum 4, Exhibit 1 to the contract between LGS and Lamb County.

A motion was made by Commissioner Cory DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the Addendum. The motion carried.

Item number six on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on allowing TDEM to use office space in the Courthouse for a County Liaison Officer.

A motion was made by Commissioner Danny Short and seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to allow TDEM to use office space in the Courthouse. The motion carried.

The next item on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action to add card locks to the District Clerk Office and Record Room, District Judges Office and Courtroom, as well as minor remodeling in JP#3 Office.

A motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the updates and remodeling. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Kent Lewis. The motion carried.

Item number eight on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action to advertise for sealed bids to replace the Heating Air Conditioning and lighting at the Ag Barn.

A motion was made by Commissioner Kent Lewis to approve the replacements. Commissioner Danny Short seconded the motion. The motion carried.

The next item on the agenda was to discuss Lamb Healthcare Center operations.

No report on the Lamb Healthcare Center operations was presented, as Cindy Pope was out ill.

Item number 10 on the agenda was to discuss future items.

Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022 will be the Christmas Open House at the Lamb County Library, located at 110 E. Sixth Street.

The Elected officials need Bonds before Jan. 1, 2023.

With there being no further business to come before this Commissioners Court, a motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to adjourn. The motion carried.
