Texas Bluegrass was born in Dimmitt, Texas. The Mayfield Brothers brought it to Dimmitt in the 1930’s. You can read more about it in the book, “Texas Bluegrass History,” at: https:// www. amazon. com/ dp/ 1540249697/ ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_ VBR0DXCDHVQV69EHX8DR Traditional Bluegrass music was born in the Appalachian Mountains in states like West Virginia, Arkansas, and others. Some of the poorest people in our country. Struggled to build their own cabins and barns. No electricity or running water. Struggled to feed their families.

But every once in a while, friends and family would get together at somebody’s front porch or barn and bring their home-made instruments – banjos, guitars, mandolins, upright bass, dobro’s, washtub, saws, singers and create bluegrass music. They’d stomp their feet and dance. Enjoy the fellowship. For a brief time, they had smiles on their faces and were happy.

We’d like to bring that happiness to you.
