On Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, Anton PD and Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a traffic crash at the intersection of U.S. 84 and FM 168 in Anton.
According to Sgt. Johnny Bures, Shelly Brown, 62, from Clovis, New Mexico drifted off the road into a ditch. Her vehicle collided with a “Do Not Enter” sign in the ditch. She continued to drive in the ditch and collided with a service pole.
Brown’s car then spun out across FM 168 and rolled over a rock pile. She slid on the roof of her vehicle for approximately 30 feet and landed next to the railroad tracks.
Brown was airlifted to UMC in Lubbock. She sustained minimal non incapacitating injuries.
