On Sept. 18, 2022 at 5:24 p.m. a two vehicle collision on U.S. Hwy. 70, seven miles East of Muleshoe, involving four people, resulted in one fatality.
A 2018 Chevy Silverado was traveling east on U.S. Hwy. 70, and a 2006 Honda Civic was traveling west on U.S. Hwy. 70. The Chevy Silverado crossed the westbound lane of travel and collided with the Honda Civic.
After the collision, the Honda Civic rolled before coming to rest on its top in the barrow ditch. The driver of the Honda Civic was later pronounced deceased on the scene. The other two passengers of the Honda Civic were treated and transported by EMS to a Muleshoe Area Hospital.
The driver of the Chevy Silverado was not injured in the crash. Everybody involved in the wreck was wearing seat belts.
