Betty Gene Cowen Krueger, 97, of Littlefield, Texas beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on September 8, 2022.
She was born to P.S. and Eula Cowen on June 9, 1925 in Wilbarger County near Vernon, Texas. She graduated from Amherst ISD in 1942. Betty was a devout Christian, a hard worker, a great gardener, and always took care of business. She was a member of Crescent Park Church of Christ for 70 years. She loved family, sports, being outdoors, playing with her grandchildren and card games. She took great pride in her garden.
She is survived by her son, William A. Thompson, Jr. and wife, Dona of Hart Camp; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Christeen Cutright of Hobbs, NM.
She was preceded in death by her three husbands, William A. Thompson, David C. Ward and Clarence Krueger; fourteen siblings; and a daughter-in-law, Jo Thompson.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2022 at Crescent Park Church of Christ in Littlefield, Texas with Jim Harris presiding. Interment will follow at Littlefield Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Children's Home of Lubbock and/or Littlefield EMS.
