The Texas Department of Public Safety released a press release on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, of a crash that occurred at 6:08 a.m. in Lamb County at FM 1055, 5.4 miles North of Earth.
Vehicle 1, a 2009 Freightliner Cascadia, truck tractor, towing a 2017 Taller Fehr semi-trailer, driven by 28-year old male, Peter Jacob Adameit, of Kress, Tx. had pulled over due to a mechanical issue.
The driver attempted to repair the problem when Vehicle 1 began to turn over into the barrow ditch, which became stuck in the mud. During the time that both truck tractor and semi-trailer rolled into the barrow ditch, the driver was struck by the left side tires of the semi-trailer and died as a result of injuries sustained.
