The Anton Volunteer Fire and Rescue is hosting a Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022 from noon to 5 p.m. at Anton City Hall, located at 400 Anton Memorial Circle. There will be water slides, slipand- slides, a kiddie pool, yard games, frisbees, sack races, cornhole and horseshoes.
All attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs, towels and sunscreen. They will be accepting school supply donations. The Anton First Baptist Church will have a cake walk and prices will be posted.
There will also be a raffle to support the Fire Department. Tickets will be one for $5 or five for $20. There will be seven winners. The first winner gets the first choice. Winners must be present to choose a prize, but it is not necessary to be present to win. The drawing will be held at 4:30 p.m.
The items being raffled are a Genesis 26” V2100 bike, valued at $300; a custom made Texas cutting board, bottle opener and coasters, valued at $155; at least $150 in gift cards and a tumbler; a bulldog locker freshie, bulldog tshirt, mum and spirit basket, valued at $100; a fold-able utility wagon, valued at $ 83; two wreaths, valued at $50; and an Avon basket, valued at $50.
