The South Plains Associations of Governments (SPAG) Regional Services held a regional roadshow on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Aquatic Center, located at 1503 Phelps Ave.
The City of Littlefield was awarded a reimbursement grant of $750,00 by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The city spent $4.5 million on the Aquatic Center and the TPWD was able to reimburse some of the money back to the city.
According to City Manager Mitch Grant, the grant was approved in Jan. 2021. SPAG acted as the grant admin and filed all the paperwork for the City of Littlefield to the TPWD.
SPAG sponsored the celebration on Thursday. Loco’s Restaurant and Bar, located at 603 W. Waylon Jennings Blvd., catered the event. Each person, upon arriving, was entered into a drawing. The prizes for the drawing were various gift cards. Members of SPAG also handed out gift bags.
