Mark Yarbrough set to speak at Ag Center on Aug. 2nd

Mark Yarbrough, a longtime Littlefield resident, will be speaking at the Littlefield Ag Center, located at 1095 E 17 th St, at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022.

Yarbrough will be speaking about burnout, something he once suffered from as a county and district attorney for Lamb County. After the speaking event there will be a book signing at the Lamb County Library. The Lamb County LEAF, Hooked on Hope and Drug Free Coalition is sponsoring the event.

Yarbrough attended Abilene Christian University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance. After graduating, Yar-brough worked for Dallas Federal/Bright Banc Savings as a loan counselor, personal banker and branch manager. Yarbrough then attended and graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law.

Yarbrough was elected as the county and district attorney of Lamb County. He was reelected and served five terms for a total of 20 years in that office. While serving as County and District Attorney, he prosecuted sex offenders, capital murderers and DWI cases.

In 2012, Yarbrough suffered from burnout and retired from the County and District Attorney’s office. He then went on to wrote a book called, “Suffer from Burnout? Give ‘Em the F.I.N.G.E.R!” and became a motivational speaker, speaking about burnout. His book has sold many copies and has helped people in all types of career fields. Burnout does not discriminate and can affect anyone, regardless of their field.

Yarbrough would like to invite, not only Lamb County, but residents from surrounding counties, as well. This will be an informative lecture, filled with lots of laughter. Yarbrough will talk about how to avoid and recover from burnout.
