Commissioners reinstate county Burn Ban for 90 days during Monday meeting

The Lamb County Commissioners Court met in regular ses sion on Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Lamb County Courthouse to discuss the business of the county.

Lamb County Judge James DeLoach gave the invocation and led the United States and Texas pledges before calling the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m.

There was no one present for public comment.

The Consent Agenda items include: Consider and take appropriate

Consider and take appropriate action on the minutes from the previous meeting, which took place on Monday, June 27, 2021;

Consider and take appropriate action on the budget and salary amendments and/or line item transfers, there were none;

Consider and take appropriate action on bills presented by the County Auditor, Gina Jones;

Consider and take appropriate action on payroll;

Consider and take appropriate action on departmental records, there were none.

A motion was made by Commissioner Danny Short and was seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the consent agenda items. The motion carried unanimously.

Item number four on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Audit. A motion was made by Commissioner Danny Short and was seconded by Commissioner Kent Lewis to approve the Fiscal Year 2020- 2021 Audit. The motion carried.

The next item was to consider and take appropriate action to re-instate the county Burn Ban. After some discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the reinstating of the county Burn Ban for 90 days. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Cory DeBerry. The motion carried unanimously.

Item number six on the agenda was to consider and take action on a water line in Precinct 4. A motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and was seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to approve action on a water line in Precinct 4 for Gary Bigham. The motion carried.

The next item on the agenda was to consider and take action on an Agreement with Allegiance Behavioral Health Center in Plainview. A motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and was seconded by Commissioner Kent Lewis to approve of the agreement. The motion carried.

The next item on the agenda was to discuss Lamb Healthcare Center operations. No representatives from Lamb Healthcare Center were present to report.

The next item on the agenda was to discuss future agenda items. Starting Monday July 18, 2022 the court will meet every Monday at 9 a.m. for Budget Work Sessions.

No budget work session was held during the July 11 meeting. The auditor was not ready to start until next week.

With there being no further business to discuss before this Commissioners Court, a motion was made by Commissioner Danny Short and was seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to adjourn. The motion carried and the court adjourned at 9:47 a.m.
