Friday May 2, 2022, the Littlefield High School Band left for Austin, Pflugerville, for their UIL State Contest, which was held this year at Hendrickson High School.
Littlefield took 37 students, five students from Middle School and 32 from the high school. There were three instrumental solos and 10 ensembles performing. Ensembles are group. The judging at this contest is pretty tough. It is state. All of our groups played extremely well.
Congratulations to the following students for earning that coveted medal at the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest (TSSEC).
Marissa Perez earned a Silver Medal for her Snare Solo, while Abigail Bass earned a Gold Medal for her Marimba Solo.
The Clarinet Trio of Lindsey Fuentes, Lauren Turpen and Marcos Rios earned a Gold Medal.
No other students medaled at this contest. The rest of the ensembles earned a 2 nd division. Unfortunately only ensembles earning 1 st divisions medal at state.
