City Council holds Oath of Office ceremony

The governing body of the City of Littlefield met at 12 noon Thursday, May 12th in the City Council Chambers, 525 Phelps Avenue, where they considered matters and related incidents to the City of Littlefield.

Council members present were: Eric Turpen, Mayor; Eric Saenz, District 1; Michael Rangel, District 2; Buddy Holmes, District 3; Kenny Rucker, Mayor Pro tempore, District 4; City Manager, Mitch Grant; and City Secretary, Janine Butler.

In the Audience were four members of the City staff.

Mayor Eric Turpen called the meeting to order at 12 noon.

Mayor pro tempore Kenny Rucker led the invocation.

Mayor Turpen led the Pledge.of Allegiance.

The Council approved the Canvass of the Votes of the May 7, 2022 General Election, and Resolution No. 2022-0512 Canvassing the Votes and declaring the Results of the May 7, 2022 General Election to Fill a Two-Year Term for District 1.

Mayor pro tempore Kenny Rucker made the motion to approve the canvass and the resolution.

Council Member Michael Rangel made the second motion, and the motion passed unanimously.

Presentation of Certificate of Election and Oath of Office for the Newly-Elected Council Members was giving.

Council Member District 1 Eric Saenz and Council Member District 2 Michael Rangel were given the oath of office after signing the Secretary of State Form 2201.

Mayor Turpen adjourned the meeting at 12:04 p.m.
