Commissioners conduct meeting Monday morning

Lamb County Commissioners met for a regular business session Monday, March 14, 2022, in the Commissioners’ meeting room on the second floor of the Courthouse.

AGENDA

Lamb County Judge, James M. DeLoach presided, and called the meeting to order, offering the opening prayer, and leading the Pledges to the flags.

Judge DeLoach invited public comments from anyone who wished to make comments about any of the agenda items, and there was no one who made a comment.

Consent Agenda items:

a) Commissioners considered the minutes from the Feb. 28, 2022 previous meeting.

b) There were no budget and salary amendments and/or lineitem transfers to be considered.

c) Accounts Payable Bills presented by the County Treasurer included: $254,301.82 for Lamb County; and $504,482.71 for Lamb Healthcare Center, for a total of $758,784.53 to be ordered by the court to pay.

d) Payrolls presented by the Lamb County Treasurer for payment included: $146,711.72 for Lamb County’s payroll, ending Feb. 25, 2022; and $168,383.29 for Lamb Healthcare Center’s payroll, ending Feb. 26, 2022.

e) Departmental reports, in each of the commissioners’ packets, were approved with the final vote on the agenda items.

4. Commissioners approved Lamb County’s TAC’s ART’s Program for 2022.

5. Commissioners also approved a temporary part-time employee and salary for the District Clerk’s Office.

6. Commissioners ordered a Special State Constitutional Election for Saturday, May 7, 2022— the same day the city and school boards will conduct elections, if their candidates are contested.

7. Commissioners discussed and set the beginning salary for a new full-time position in the treasurer’s office.

Before going into Future Agenda Items, Judge DeLoach read a letter from the County’s Livestock Show Board, expressing their “thank yous” for the improvements that have been made to control the drainage from the animal washing room in the show barns. Next Meeting

Judge DeLoach announced that the next meeting will be held on Monday, March 28, at 2 p.m., upstairs in the Commissioners’ meeting room of the Courthouse. Adjournment

Since there was no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:30 a.m.
