Melton Batey, 80, of Fairfield, TX passed away Feb. 25, 2022 at the Dallas Veterans Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX. He was born Nov. 7, 1941 in Madison, LA to Rupert Chester Batey and Audrey (Young) Batey.
Melton served in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a proud veteran and a member of the VFW in Plainview. He married Kathy Garney on April 22, 1988 in San Antonio. He worked as a truckdriver for most of his life before retiring in 2006. While living in Plainview he was a member of the 9 th and Columbia Church of Christ, where he volunteered as much as he could.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2022 at Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
