Public Intoxication charges are filed on local woman

At 8:25 p.m., Friday, Feb. 4, 2022, a female was arrested by a Littlefield police officer, on a charge of Public intoxiction.

While on patrol, the officer observed a her walking at a fast pace and “acting suspicious” while pulling a black suitcase eastbound in the 1300 Block of West Third Street in Littlefield.

The officer got her stopped in the 200 Block of South Bell, where she threw the suitcase toward the officer, almost hitting him.

He placed her in handcuffs, and advised her she was being detained.

He questioned her if she was under the influence of any illegal narcotics, and she denied having done so.

The officer observed her eyes, that indicated she was under the influence of an illegal narcotic.

He asked if she had family that she could be released to, and she said “no”.

She was advised by the officer that she was being arrested for Pulic Intoxication, due to her being a danger to herself or others.

She was transported to Lamb Healthcare Center for medical assistance, then later transported to the Lamb County Jail where she was released into their custody.
