Littlefield and Sudan to honor Veteran’s Thursday

The Littlefield High School Student Council has scheduled a Veterans’ Day program at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in the new Wildcat Gym, to which the community is invited to attend.

The program will be presented in honor of all Littlefield-Area veterans.

The program will begin with the reciting of the Pledges, followed by the welcome.

Toni Merideth, Primary Music teacher, will sing the National An them.

A “History of Veterans’ Day” will be presented, as a reminder of the importance of remembering what our veterans have sacrificed during all wars.

Coach Thomas will be the featured speaker, and every veteran will be recognized, and invited to tell the years and branch of service in which they served.

Taps will be played. Followed by the Second Grade Choir singing “God Bless America” and “Armed Forces Medley.

All High School grades in English classes have been invited to write an essay, and the winners of each of the grades will read their winning essay, before being presented with cash.

The LHS Thespians will present a special skit.

Mrs. Hays, LHS Principal, will close the program.

When the crowd is dismissed, the veterans and their spouses will be treated to a luncheon at Littlefield High School.

***** Sudan High School will be honoring all those from the area who have served the United States in military duty, at a special Veterans’ Day ceremony, Thursday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m. in the Sudan High School Auditorium.

All family and friends, and Veterans are invited to attend the Commemorating Ceremony and be honored.

A reception will follow the ceremony in the Sudan High School Library, and the public is invited to “Help us celebrate those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of Our Nation”.
