FIRST PLACE CAR IN HARRELL CAR SHOW – This 1937 Plymouth 4-door sedan, took first place in the Joe Harrell Memorial Car Show Saturday, and won a plaque and $100 cash. It is owned by Lonnnie and Helen Adrian. The second place car was a 2019 Dodge Charger, owned by Hell Cat Granny, who won a second place ribbon and $50 in cash. Third plade and $25 cash was won by Lynn Maxwell’s 1966 Chevelle convertible.
MEMORIAL AWARD FOR LOIS BRIMHALL who died a few weeks go, on June 30, 2021. She had served on the Olton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and was a constant ray of sunshine in the lives of her family, as well as her Olton family. Her plaque will be hung in the newly remodeled Olton Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture office, along with her photo.
CELEBRATING THE RED, WHITE AND BLUE
BEST DOG IN SHOW WAS “SAMSON” who was shown by Brooklyn DeBerry, who was accompanied by her sister. Samson was presented a large gift package, donated by 5M Feeds, that is shown behind them.
FIRST PLACE PARADE ENTRY was won by the Olton JHS Cheerleaders, left. They were presented the $200 cash award during the awards ceremony. The second place entry was the Lamb County Electric Cooperative, inc., float, which won $100 cash prize; and above, the third place entry was the Running Water Draw Care Center’s float, which won $50 cash prize.
