Lamb County Commissioners met Monday morning, June 28, 2021, for a regular business meeting in their new meeting room at the Lamb County Courthouse.
Lamb County Judge called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m.
No one made a public comment about any of the agenda items.
The items listed as part of the “Consent Agenda Items” require no deliberation by the court, and each court member has the prerogative of removing an item from that agenda so it may be considered separately.
Consent agenda items
One set of Minutes from the previous meeting were considered to be in order for approval.
There were no budget and salary amendments and/or line-item transfers to be made.
Bills presented by the County Auditor to be paid, included: Lamb County total: $91,867.01; and the Lamb County Hospital total: $590,940.70, for a combined total of $682,807,71 in bills to be paid.
Payroll bills presented by the Lamb County Treasurer included: Lamb County payroll ending June 18, 2021, for $141,544.06; and Lamb Healthcare Center payroll ending June 19, 2021, for $169,046.20.
The departmental reports that were included in each of the commissioners’ packets, were approved with all of the other consent agenda items above.
Next, the commissioners approved Precinct 1 Commissioner Cory DeBerry to advertise for sealed bids for a used back hoe, and to trade in a 1985 John Deere Back Hoe, and to finance the difference.
Webb, Webb and Wright CPA representative Steven Webb, reviewed the information in the Sept. 30, 2020 (year’s end) County Audit Report.
The commissioners followed the report in the pages referred to in the bound copies of the report.
At the close of his report, Steven advised: “The county’s books are in order, and we were provided with the information we needed in timely order.”
Judge DeLoach expressed his appreciation of the years of service the Webb, Webb and Wright CPAs have done the audit for
Lamb County.
Steven Webb expressed his appreciation for getting the jobs to do the County’s audits through the years.
Danny Short made the motion and Lee Logan seconded the motion to approve the Sept. 30, 2020 Audit Report. The motion passed unanimously.
Stacie Styron, Director of Nursing at Lamb Healthcare Center, reported there is still some re-construction work that needs to be done at the hospital, and the hospital is getting bids for the projects.
Judge DeLoach mentioned that the commissioners will begin working on the new budget at the first meeting in July.
