The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity baseball team picked up a win over the Post Antelopes on Saturday, April 24th , 18-13, on the road.
Post blanked the Wolverines in the first two innings, jumping out to a, 5-0, lead, but the Wolverines would add two runs in the third inning and three in the fourth inning to tie the game, 5-5.
The Antelopes would push four more runs across to regain the lead, 9-5, but a huge 12-run fifth inning for the Wolverines catapulted them into the lead, 17-9.
The Springlake-Earth defense kept the Antelopes off of the board in the bottom of the fifth inning and their offense scratched one more run across in the top of the sixth to take an, 18-9, lead. Post would score four runs in the bottom of the sixth, but it was not enough, as Springlake-Earth went on to down the Antelopes, 18-13.
Jalen Solis finished the game with three hits and four RBI’s for the Wolverines. He also threw three innings on the mound earning six strikeouts. Evan DeLeon also pitched two innings for the Wolverines, earning three strikeouts. Trace Goodman also earned four strikeouts for the Wolverines in the contest.
The Wolverines were at Olton on Friday for their regular season finale. Results were not avaialble at press time.
