Members of the Lamb Healthcare Auxiliary recently participated in an uplifting project of sending greeting cards to residents in local nursing homes.
The volunteer organization worked with Runningwater Draw Ready-to-Serve Volunteers (RSVP) to carry out the project. Both organizations are now affiliated with national volunteer organization AmeriCorps Seniors.
In Lamb county, cards were delivered to residents in Arbor Grace and Library of Legacies in Littlefield, Harmonee House in Amherst, and Runningwater Draw Care Center in Olton.
Prairie House Living Center in Plainview residents also received cards from AmeriCorps members from Hale and Floyd counties.
The handwritten and personally-decorated cards warmed the hearts of the residents, as well as the volunteers who took part in the project.
Anyone who is looking for a rewarding place to serve, contact the Lamb Healthcare Auxiliary, or call AmeriCorps Seniors at 806-291-1223. No amount of time is too little or too much!
